THE 2022 - 2023 FOOTBALL TEAM CONTINUE TO MAKE HISTORY

The football program has been in a playoff since the 2018-2019 season. The seniors were eighth graders when the program participated in their first playoff since the 2010-2011 season. This season, the football team saw several firsts. This is the second year the team has advanced to the second round of playoffs. Both playoffs were played at the Wigwam, a first. This was the third time Southern has played St. Paul. Last year, the game was a nail biter. They managed to push St. Paul into two overtimes before they beat Southern, 14 - 21. This year was not a repeat of last year. Southern beat St. Paul, 42 - 22. Southern advanced to round three, a first for Southern Local. The season ended with Warren JFK, 0 - 35.
