Southern Local / Salineville Kiwanis
Lindzie Keyes has been selected as December Kiwanis Student of the Month.
Lindzie is the daughter of Annette and Christopher Keyes.
Lindzie is currently ranked 7th in her class with a 4.16 grade point average.
Lindzie has maintained straight A's throughout her high school career.
She is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Club and Art Club. She is also a member of the Southern Local Choir.
Outside of school, she is a proud member of the House of Prayer Church.
After graduation, Lindzie plans to attend Kent State University to major in Radiology. She plans to specialize in trauma and become an X-Ray Technician.

Southern Local / Salineville Kiwanis
Brandon "Brody" Brown has been selected as November Kiwanis Student of the Month by Southern Local High School.
Brody is the son of Brandon Brown of Ostrander, OH and Johnna Abdalla of Hammondsville.
Brody is currently ranked 6th in his class with a 4.24 grade point average.
Brody is a member of the National Honor Society, a three year member of the Spanish Club, and a four year member of the Varsity Club. He has participated in the College Credit Plus Program. He is the Historian for the Class of 2025.
Brody is a 2-year letterman in Baseball. He was the 2023 MVP. Other honors include EOAC Honorable Mention Outfield and 2nd Team Outfield. He is a 4-year letterman in Football. He received the EOAC 2nd Team Defense and the First Team Defense. He is a 1-year letterman in both basketball and bowling.
After graduation, Brody plans to attend New Castle School of Trades in East Liverpool for Electrical and Industrial Maintenance.

Katelyn Harhbarger has been selected as October Kiwanis Student of the Month by Southern Local High School.
Katie is the daughter of Justin and Susan Harshbarger of Wellsville.
She is ranked 9th in her class with a 3.97 grade point average.
Katie has demonstrated excellent academic performance at Southern Local. She has been a member of the Spanish Club for 3 years, Student Council for 1 year, and the National Honor Society.
Katie represented Southern Local by attending Buckeye Girls State in Bowling Green over the summer. Buckeye Girls State is designed to educate Ohio's young women in the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of good citizenship.
Katie has been an excellent athlete. She is a one-year letter winner in track and field and a member of the golf team during her senior year. She is a 3-year letter winner in wrestling. She has wrestled for 7 year total, 3 of which were in high school. During her freshman year, Katie was the first Southern Local female wrestler who made it to State for Wrestling.
After graduation, Katie plans to attend college to further her education in nursing. Her goal is to specialize in trauma and become an ICU traveling nurse.

Southern Local / Salineville Kiwanis
Kennedy Lewis has been selected as September Kiwanis Student of the Month by Southern Local High School.
Kennedy is the daughter of Chris and Nikki Lewis of Salineville. The granddaughter of Gary and Pat Thomas and Sandy Lewis.
Kennedy is ranked first in her class with a 4.547 Grade Point Average. She has been on the A Honor Roll her entire high school career.
Kennedy was the 23-24 Southern Local September Student Spotlight and the Southern Local Student of the Year during her junior year, both of which she was nominated for by teachers and staff. Kennedy is currently President of the Senior Class, Vice President of Student Council, in the Blue Crew and Spanish Club. Over her high school career, Kennedy has earned 52 College Credits Plus credits from Eastern Gateway Community College. She is currently enrolled with Kent State University for 12 credits.
In addition to academics, Kennedy has been an extraordinary athlete over her high school career. She has received accolades in Golf, Basketball, Softball, Volleyball, and Bowling.
Kennedy set the school record of scoring a 45 on 9 holes during her freshman year in Golf. During her sophomore year, she earned the To Performer Award, 1st Team EOAC, finished 5th, was one place from qualifying for districts out of 81 sectional, and placed 5th at the EOAC Invitational. Her junior year, Kennedy placed 2nd at the Mahoning County open and 1st Team EOAC. In Basketball, she earned Offensive Player of the Year, the Warrior Award, Honorable Mention All EOAC, and 2nd Team All EOAC during her freshman year. In Softball, Kennedy was 1st Team All EOAC during her freshman year, earned the Golden Bat Award in 9th grade. In 10th grade, she was 1st Team OVAC, 1st Team EOAC, and All YSN Softball Team. In 11th grade, she was 1st Team EOAC, 2nd Team OVAC and earned the Indian Award. During her Volleyball career, Kennedy received the Captain's Award, VB Coaches Underclassman Award, VB Coaches All District Honorable Mention and the Tomahawk Award. In Bowling, Kennedy has received Honorable Mention all TMC League and the Indian Award.
After graduation, Kennedy plans to continue her academic career in college pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering.
